This April my husband and I were planning to spend a long weekend in Joshua Tree. Thanks to the coronavirus, our trip was cancelled. And, I'm not going to lie, I was pretty bummed for a while. I've never been to Joshua Tree before and I was looking forward to exploring all that magical desert has to offer. So in honor of my trip that didn't quite happen, I created a warm desert landscape scene featuring three tall cacti.
Like many of you, I've been cooped up, trying to figure out how to balance working from home, spending more time than usual with my partner, and the overall stress and anxiety that has sprung up due to the virus. I'm thankful my family and I are safe and we have day jobs that are flexible to accommodate this crisis. I'm also thankful I have embroidery. In these stressful moments, it's been a true gift to spend a few minutes stitching.
I'd like to invite you to join me in practicing mindfulness and embroidering this month’s pattern.
