September Workshop: A Season to Try Something New

As the school year starts a new session, think about what you'd like to learn this fall. Is embroidery on your list? While things still don't look the same as they did last fall, making time for yourself is an important part of dealing with this new normal. So why not spend a few hours learning something new in an online embroidery workshop? See what workshops you'd like to try this September.


Desert Landscape Pin Workshop with Maker General on September 10 from 5-7pm (PST)

Wear your flair! That's right, in this two-hour, hands-on online workshop you'll learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered pin. Each attendee will be mailed a workshop packet that includes yellow pattern fabric, full skeins of embroidery thread, a random pin shape, transfer pen, an embroidery needle, and embroidery hoop. Fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ will share her hand embroidery expertise, tips, and tricks to help you use 3 different beginner friendly stitches to create your own unique desert landscape pin. Come with landscape design ideas in mind. Register by September 3, 2020 to ensure your workshop kit is mailed in time for this online workshop through Zoom.


Wildflower Embroidery Basics Workshop with Monster on September 11 from 5-7pm (PST)

Poppies, daisies, marigolds on my! Learn to embroider gorgeous wildflowers with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This online hands-on workshop will cover embroidery basics in a 2 hour workshop. Stitch a variety of wildflowers while learning up to 7 different embroidery stitches. Each attendee will be able to create their own unique wildflower design, using a variety of colors. Workshops materials are mailed to your door and include a wooden embroidery hoop, surprise pattern fabric, assorted full skeins of DMC embroidery thread, embroidery needle, wildflower transfer designs, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be shared after the class. Register by 9/4 to ensure your workshop kit is mailed in time for this online workshop through Zoom


Pacific Northwest Pin Workshop with Spacecraft on September 17 from 6-8pm (PST)

Calling all pacific northwest lovers! Want to learn how to hand embroider a mountain range landscape pin? Join Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ and Spacecraft for an online 2 hour workshop. This hands-on, virtual experience includes all the materials you’ll need to create a beautiful hand embroidered mountain landscape pin. The workshop covers a variety of beginner friendly embroidery stitches and the class kit includes: one oval shaped brooch/pin, full skeins of DMC embroidery floss, an embroidery hoop, blue pattern fabric, printed instructions, an embroidery needle and live instruction via Zoom. Your complete kit will be mailed to you prior to class, registration closes September 10th so grab your spot soon!


Heart Cactus Workshop with Monster on September 20 from 10am-12noon (PST)

Want to learn how to paint with thread and create 3-dimensional embroidery? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for an online hands-on embroidery workshop. In this 2 hour class you'll create your own ombre cactus with 3D flower embroidery while learning different embroidery techniques. Class materials are mailed to your door and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, surprise fabric, assorted full skeins of DMC embroidery thread, embroidery needle, pins, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be shared after the class. Whether you're an embroidery newbie or a stitching pro, you're sure to learn new stitches, techniques, and tips! Embroidered Lettering with Wyldwood Creative on September 24 from 6-8pm (PST)

Want to add a cute phrase or snarky saying to your embroidery? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a two hour, hands-on workshop. We'll cover 3 different beginner-friendly embroidery stitches that are great for stitching lettering along with tips and tricks to stitch your favorite phrases. Each attendee will receive a full kit for this online workshop. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise cotton fabric, a transfer pen, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Register by September 17th to join in the stitching fun. Class will be held via Zoom on Sunday, August 16th from noon-2pm PT.
