Learn To Draw With Thread

In Beginning Embroidery, you will learn classic and experimental hand sewing techniques to create drawings in thread. We will learn how to successfully sew several different embroidery stitches that will create unique surfaces, lines, and textures.

The class will begin with introductions and check-in about everyone's skill level. We will start at the very beginning with how to select appropriate fabric for embroidery, how to thread a needle, how to split threads, and how to stretch your fabric on a hoop.

We will learn 6 embroidery stitches including:

• running stitch
• backstitch
• whipped backstitch
• chain stitch
• satin stitch
• french knot
