Let’s Get Stitchy: Cactus Embroidery Basics Workshop

Updated: Feb 18, 2020

If you’ve ever wanted to try stitching, my cactus embroidery basics class is a great way to unwind and learn a new craft through hands-on instruction. This is one of my favorite and most popular classes.

In this class I share how to hand embroidery up to 9 different basic embroidery stitches, including back stitch, satin stitch, woven stitch, couching, lazy daisy, long and short satin stitch, French knots, fishbone stitch, and the reverse chain stitch. Along with learning different embroidery stitches we’ll also be playing with thread weight to add texture and depth to each piece.

I love teaching these embroidery workshops because I enjoy sharing my craft with passionate makers. It’s inspiring to watch new stitches find a craft they enjoy and see stitching pros learn something new.

Each workshop attendee will receive a 6-inch wooden embroidery hoop, an embroidery needle, my Peel Stick and Stitch Cactus Basics pack, detailed take home instructions, felt and a sawtooth hook to finish the back of the design in the hoop, and be able to choose from a selection of pattern cotton fabric and an assortment of DMC embroidery thread.

Seeing the fabric pattern and color combinations that come about in these classes is always a delight.

In my workshops I share useful tips and tricks, like how I measure my thread, how to create the French knot of knots, and offer everyone hands-on instruction.

Whether you’re new to embroidery or have been stitching your a while, I’d love to have you join me! Pre-registration is necessary for all of my workshops so I can specially prepare each workshop kit. Sign up for a workshop.
