7 Ways to Add Embroidery to Your Wedding

I'm going to go right out and say this, I found the wedding planning process extremely overwhelming. I'm not one of those people who knew what kind of weeding they wanted or even had a dream location or dress in mind when my husband and I started planning our nuptials. When it came down to tying the knot, we went with as simple an approach as possible, while still having a destination wedding.

Here's us on a beach in Phuket, Thailand. When our wedding photographer took us to this local beach in the morning, we decided later that day that we'd tie the knot there. (Yes, we had out immediate family fly around the world without having a venue for our wedding).

Looking back, I am thankful we left a lot of traditional things out that would have felt stressful to make happen, but I do wish we had some commemorative pieces that we could cherish for years to come. So because this is an fiber arts blog with a focus on embroidery blog, here's 7 ways to add commemorative embroidery to your big day, anniversary, and happy ever after.

This hand embroidered tie patch by sewhappygirls would be a wonderful wedding day or anniversary gift. While my husband didn't actually wear a tie to our wedding, I would see this being a wonderful gift for the groom, father of the bride, and father-in-law.

Every bride needs something special to get ready in and if you have a wedding party to help you, these embroidered robe by RoseGoldRebel would be perfect. When my sister in law got married I found a beautiful embroidered robe for her to wear as she got ready for her big day.

Whether you're a super crafty friend or the bride looking to celebrate your big day, this Mr and Mrs floral wreath customizable hand embroidery pattern by TheCraftyFoxKnotShop would be a lovely gift. I love giving embroidery as a wedding gift because I know it's something that will be cherrished.

Speaking of embroidered pieces, these embroidered floral napkins by Scandyd would be a lovely gift to the bride and groom or gorgeous for the reception.

One thing I wish I had had at my own wedding was flowers. And even though flowers die, having them stitched into a custom hand embroidered wedding bouquet by MyMadDesignsco would be a lovely way to remember them.

Another spicy embroidered keepsake is a monogrammed embroidered garter by yourbabysroom. Whether you plan to do a garter toss or keep this personalized undergarment to you and your partner, this would be a beautiful embellishment to add to it.

And of course, once you're married you just want to shout it from the rooftops. This newlywed bride shirt by NoUglyCryingUK is a minimalist piece that would be lovely for any honeymoon, anniversary, or daily wear.
