August Workshops: Try New Stitches

Whether you're looking to learn the basics or create something special, this month you'll have plenty of options to choose from! Scroll down to join in the stitching fun.


Embroidered Lettering with Wyldwood Creative on August 16 from 12-2pm

Want to add a cute phrase or snarky saying to your embroidery? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a two hour, hands-on workshop. We'll cover 3 different beginner-friendly embroidery stitches that are great for stitching lettering along with tips and tricks to stitch your favorite phrases. Each attendee will receive a full kit for this online workshop. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise cotton fabric, a transfer pen, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Register by August 9th to join in the stitching fun. Class will be held via Zoom on Sunday, August 16th from noon-2pm PT.


Floral Embroidery Basics with Spacecraft on August 27 from 6-8pm

Flower power time! Learn to embroider flowers in this online embroidery basics workshop. This two hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, floral transfer designs, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise pattern fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Register by August 20th to join in the stitching fun. Class will be held via Zoom on Thursday, August 27th from 6-8pm PT.


Desert Landscape Pin Workshop with Monster on August 30 from 7-9pm

Wear your flair! That's right, in this two-hour, hands-on online workshop you'll learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered pin. Each attendee will be mailed a workshop packet that includes yellow pattern fabric, full skeins of embroidery thread, a random pin shape, transfer pen, an embroidery needle, and embroidery hoop. Fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ will share her hand embroidery expertise, tips, and tricks to help you use 3 different beginner friendly stitches to create your own unique desert landscape pin. Come with landscape design ideas in mind. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Register by August 22, 2020 to ensure your workshop kit is mailed in time for this online workshop through Zoom. Class will be held via Zoom on Sunday, August 30th from 7-9pm PT.
