Cozy Up With October Craft Classes


When the weather starts to cool down, I immediately want to put on my comfies and craft. Forget ever going outside again, I'd rather cozy up with my pup Henley, an embroidery project, and turn on some true crime tv show.


Want to join me in learning this relaxing and cozy crafty? This October you can choose from 10 in-person and virtual workshops + events to get your craft on. Learn a new skill, try a new technique, or brush up on something new.



October 3: Floral Embroidery Basics with Jenny Lemons from 11-1pm PST

Flower power time! Learn to embroider flowers in this online embroidery basics workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two-hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, floral transfer designs, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise pattern fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. October 12: Bee T-Shirt at Monster from 6:30-8:30pm PST

Have you ever wanted to add embroidery to your t-shirt? Well now you can! Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in a two-hour hands-on workshop. You'll learn the leaf stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, and stem stitch to create this bee and leaf design, specifics of how to embroider on clothing, and tips and tricks to making your embroidered clothing last. Simply bring your own t-shirt and let's get stitching. Class participants will receive a materials kit that includes DMC embroidery thread, an embroidery needle, a transfer pattern, iron on stabilizer, an embroidery hoop, and printed instructions. October 14: Cactus Bandana with Maker General from 5-7pm PST

Add some stitched flair to your favorite bandana. Join Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ to stitch cacti onto your bandana. We’ll use the long and short satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, and French knot to add prickly plant details to the bandana of your choice. This virtual class comes with a full kit that includes: 4 peel stick and stitch detailed cactus designs, 5 skeins of DMC thread in various colors, a needle, an embroidery hoop, iron on stabilizer, printed instructions, and live instruction via Zoom. October 20: Virtual Landscape Patches with Spacecraft from 6-8pm PST

Calling all nature lovers. From the orangey sand swept desert dunes to the tree lined blue ridge mountains, capture your love of the great outdoors with an embroidered patch. Join Melisa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in stitching a landscape patch. We’ll use the satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, and the whip stitch to create iron on patches that you can add to your go-to travel pack or favorite jean jacket. This virtual class comes with a full kit that includes: 4 peel stick and stitch landscape designs, white cotton fabric, felt, an embroidery hoop, needle, 5 full skeins of DMC embroidery thread, iron on stabilizer, printed instructions, and live instruction via Zoom. October 21: Desert Landscape Pins at Wyldwood Creative from 6-8pm PST

Wear your flair! Add a desert landscape to any outfit with this workshop. In this two-hour, hands-on class you'll learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered pin. Attendees will receive a surprise pin shape and materials to create their own piece of wearable art. Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ to learn the satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, and straight stitch as well as her hand embroidery expertise, tips, and tricks to help you create your own unique pin. Want to add a cute phrase or snarky saying to your embroidery? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a two-hour, hands-on workshop. We'll cover 5 different beginner-friendly embroidery stitches that are great for stitching lettering, along with tips and tricks to stitch your favorite phrases. Each attendee will receive a full kit that includes: wooden embroidery hoop, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, surprise purple cotton fabric, transfer pen, and printed instructions. October 28: Virtual Mountainscapes with Monster from 5:30-7:30pm PST

From the mountains to the desert, adventure is calling! Learn to embroider a whimsical mountainscape in this online embroidery basics workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two-hour, hands-on workshop covers 5 beginner-friendly embroidery stitches, including the satin stitch, back stitch, long and short satin stitch, chain stitch, and reverse chain stitch. Melissa will share how to create texture and dimension with different embroidery stitches, an easy design transfer method, and tips and tricks to make embroidery easy and fun. Each attendee will receive a full workshop kit that includes a wooden embroidery hoop, transfer design, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a peach fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. Calling all cactus lovers! Learn to embroider cacti in this embroidery basics workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two and a half hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches including the satin stitch, long and short satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, leaf stitch, French knot, lazy daisy, couching, needle weaving, and more! Each attendee will receive a full kit that includes: a wooden embroidery hoop, cactus transfer designs, embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a surprise purple pattern fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions.
