Welcome to the December FlossTube! This month I'm sharing a special surprise! Myself and 11 hand embroidery artists were chosen as contributors for the book, Embroidery Sampler Collective. For this month's floss tube, I'm giving you an in-depth look at this new book and the 2 patterns I contributed to it.
If you haven't seen the FlossTubes for my first book, How to Embroider Texture and Pattern, second book DIY Embroidered Shoes, and third book, 3D Botanical Embroidery & Stumpwork, be sure to give those a watch too.
An MCreativeJ FlossTube
This 19-ish minute video takes you from front to back cover of Embroidery Sampler Collective, published by Stash Books and C&T Publishing. This video really does show off all 128 pages of this book. From the intro to the stitch glossary, the projects, the patterns, and the designers, you get a look at it all!
You'll love getting to see the 18 patterns from embroidery designers Amiee Ray, Aliaksandra Dzyachenka, Anne Oliver, Carley Pettitt, Christen Brown, Jennifer Davidson, Laura Wasilowski, Louise Watson, Megan Zanieswki, Stella Caraman, Theresa Lawson, and myself.
This sampler book is a lovely way to explore various stitches and techniques. It takes the idea of an embroidery sampler and turns it from a practice piece into a work of art. If you’re on the fence about getting my book, Embroidery Sampler Collective, I hope this gives you a good sense of what up can expect throughout this embroidery project book and why you’ll love it.
