Couched Circle Stitch Step-by-Step Tutorial

1. The couched circle creates a decorative circle design on the front of the fabric. Start by drawing a circle with spoke radiating from the center onto the fabric.

2. Next, bring the laid thread up through the center of the circle.

3. Bring a second thread up next to the laid thread.

Couched Circle Step 3

4. Using the second thread, start tacking the laid thread down with short stitches. These stitches should be made along the spokes of the fabrics.

5. Work around the circle until the entire shape is filled in.

6. End the threads. After the last tacking stitch is made, knot the thread on the back of the fabric. Then rethread the laid thread on a needle. Tuck the needle under the outermost row of the couched circle, then bring the thread to the back and knot it.
