Let's Craft Together! Join a Virtual or In-Person Embroidery Workshop This June


Longer days mean more time to craft, right?! I know I often find myself up later and later workshop on projects during these summer months. It's hard not to with so much sunshine.


Take advantage of the daylight and let's craft the night away. If you've ever wanted to try embroidery, want to upcycle some of your everyday items, or are looking to advance your skills, then we've got the perfect workshops for you.


June 2-July 7 from 6-7pm PST Virtual Mending Workshop Series with Wyldwood Creative

From June 2-July 7, Wyldwood Creative and I are hosting 6 weeks of virtual mending classes. Each mindful mending class is one hour and will cover a different visible mending technique. Starting June 2 we'll cover Woven Mends on Denim, on June 9 you can learn Woven Wheel Mends on Denim or Knits, on June 16 we'll cover Buttonhole Mends on Denim or Knits, on June 23 we'll cover Patching a Hole with Fabric and a Stitched Design, on June 30 we'll go over Reinforcing Worn Denim with a Stitched Design, and the last class in our series on July 7 will go over Covering with Patch Applique. You can join us for the whole series or pick and choose which classes you'd like to attend. Classes list the materials needed or you can pick up supplies at Wyldwood Creative.


Tropical Plants Embroidery Basics on June 3rd from 5:30-8:30pm PST with Wyldwood Creative

Let’s get tropical! Learn to embroider tropical plants in this in-person embroidery workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This three-hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches and each attendee will receive a full kit.

Kits include: a wooden embroidery hoop, transfer design, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a cream cotton fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. Register here.


Woven Mends on June 7 from 4-6pm PST with Pattern Review

There are a variety of woven mends that are great for repairing worn and torn clothing. For this virtual workshop, Pattern Review and I will cover 2 different woven mends that are great for denim or knits. If you need supplies, you can order a kit by May 26th otherwise you can provide your own and join us for two hours or virtual visible mending. Register here.


Blooming Wildflowers on June 8 from 6-8pm PST with Needles Studio

Join in an evening of fun and creativity! In this hands-on class you'll learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered bouquet of three-dimensional wildflowers. Melissa will share her hand embroidery expertise, tips on 3-D embroidery, and tricks to help you create your own unique design as she covers foundational embroidery stitches as well as some techniques that may be new to you. All materials will be provided and a kit will be sent straight to your door. You join the class via Zoom and get creative from the comfort of your own home! Register by June 1st to have your kit mailed to you.


Fresh Fruit Grocery Tote on June 10th from 6-8pm PST with Monster

Squeeze some fun out of grocery shopping and running errands with this fruity tote bag. Join Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in learning how to embroider fruit onto a tote bag. We’ll use the back stitch, seed stitch, reverse chain stitch, and French knot to add fruity details to a canvas tote. This virtual class comes with a full kit that includes: 8 Peel stick and stitch fruit designs, full skeins of DMC thread in various colors, a Canvas tote, a Needle, a 4-inch embroidery hoop, Iron on stabilizer, printed Instructions, and live instruction via Zoom.

This class will take place over Zoom on 6/10 starting at 6 p.m. PST. A recording of the workshop will be shared after the class. Whether you're an embroidery newbie or a stitching pro, you're sure to learn new stitches, techniques, and tips! Please register by 6/3 to allow time for the supplies to reach you.


Embroidered Cactus Bandana on June 15th from 6-8pm PST with Monster

Add some stitched flair to your favorite bandana. Join Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ to stitch cacti onto your bandana. We’ll use the long and short satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, and French knot to add prickly plant details to the bandana of your choice. This virtual class comes with a full kit that includes: 4 peel stick and stitch detailed cactus designs, 5 skeins of DMC thread in various color, a needle, an embroidery hoop, iron on stabilizer, printed instructions, and live instruction via Zoom. You will need to provide the bandana of

your choice to embroider. This class will take place over Zoom on 6/15 starting at 6 p.m. PST. A recording of the workshop will be shared after the class. Whether you're an embroidery newbie or a stitching pro, you're sure to learn new stitches, techniques, and tips! Please register by 6/9 to allow time for the supplies to reach you.


Embroidered Bee T-Shirt on June 17 from 6:30-8:30pm PST with Spacecraft

Have you ever wanted to add embroidery to your t-shirt? Well now you can! Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in a two-hour in-person workshop. You'll learn 4 embroidery stitches as we create a bee and leaf design, specifics of how to embroider on clothing, and tips and tricks to making your embroidered clothing last. Class participants will receive a materials kit upon registration that includes: DMC embroidery thread, embroidery needle, transfer pattern, stabilizer, embroidery hoop, and printed instructions. Embroidered Landscape Patch on June 22nd from 6-8pm PST with Monster

Calling all nature lovers. From the orangey sand swept desert dunes to the tree lined blue ridge mountains, capture your love of the great outdoors with an embroidered patch. Join Melisa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in stitching a landscape patch. We’ll use the satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, and the whip stitch to create iron on patches that you can add to your go-to travel pack or favorite jean jacket. This virtual class comes with a full kit that includes: 4 peel stick and stitch landscape designs, white cotton fabric, felt, an embroidery hoop, needle, 5 full skeins of DMC embroidery thread, iron on stabilizer, printed instructions, and live instruction via Zoom. This class will take place over Zoom on 6/22 starting at 6 p.m. PST. A recording of the workshop will be shared after the class. Desert Landscape Pins on June 24th from 5-7pm PST with Jennie Lemons

Let's create some desert flair! Learn how to stitch your own hand embroidered desert landscape pin in this 2-hour, hands-on class virtual workshop. Attendees will receive one surprise pin shape and materials to create their own piece of wearable art. Fiber artist, Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ will share her hand embroidery expertise, tips, and tricks to help you create your own unique pin. Come with a landscape design in mind. Kits include: one surprise pin shape, embroidery hoop, yellow pattern fabric, 4 skeins of DMC embroidery thread, transfer pen, embroidery needle, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Please register by 6/17.


Heart Cactus & 3D Flower Embroidery on June 27th from 10am-12noon PST with Maker General

Want to learn how to paint with thread and create 3-dimensional embroidery? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for an online hands-on embroidery workshop. In this 2 hour class you'll create your own ombre cactus with 3D flower embroidery while learning different embroidery techniques. Class materials are mailed to your door and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, surprise fabric, assorted full skeins of DMC embroidery thread, embroidery needle, pins, backing materials, and printed instructions. A recording of the workshop will be available after class. Please register by 6/20.
