March Workshops and Events

Updated: Oct 19, 2020

It's a makers paradise the first few months of the year. In February we celebrated National Embroidery Month and now it's National Craft Month! Sounds like perfection to me. With all the cold weather we've been having in Seattle, all I want to do is stay in, wrap up in a warm sweater, and make something while watching British mysteries on Acorn TV.

If you'd like to celebrate National Craft Month with me, I have tons of options for you to get your stitch on. From first time stitchers to experienced embroiderers looking to meet others or try something new, see what events MCreativeJ has in store for the month of March.

This March I'm headed to Redmond. My first workshop of the month will be on March 4 at Redmond Art Works from 7-9pm. This Winter Embroidery Basics class combines winter botanicals with up to 6 different embroidery stitches and an easy to use transfer method. You'll be able to choose from a variety of fabrics and thread colors to make this design truly your own creation.

There are three options to create a cactus field with me in March. On March 7 I'll be at Redmond Art Works from 7-9pm, on March 26 I'll be at Spacecraft Seattle from 6-9pm, and on March 29 at Monster Art and Clothing from 11am-2pm. Both class will cover embroidery basics. You'll learn up to 9 different embroidery stitches, an easy transfer method, and receive hands-on instruction.

Spring is just around the corner which means floral embroidery basics is back! Join me at Monster Art and Clothing on March 10. I'm excited to be teaching in their new space in Ballard. This embroidery basics class will cover up to 8 different basic embroidery stitches.

Teens and tweens, let's get crafty! Join me for a two hour beginner-friendly embroidery basics rainbow class at Monster Art and Clothing on March 14 from 11am-1pm. We'll create colorful rainbows using three different beginner friendly embroidery stitches.

Pins are back and there's two ways to create wearable flair this March! On March 14 I'll be teaching a Landscape Pin embroidery workshop at Monster Art and Clothing from 4-7pm or you can join me on March 28 at Wyldwood Creative from 11-2pm. This fun, beginner-friendly class will cover three different stitches to add texture to your original landscape. Most attendees will be able to finish their pin and wear it out of the class.

On March 15 we'll be painting with thread at Workshop Issaquah to create a Heart Cactus with 3D Flower. This 10:30-1:30pm workshop uses basic embroidery techniques to blend color, add texture, and create 3-dimensional elements.

On March 19 we're getting tropical! Join me for a tropical plants embroidery basics class at Monster Art and Clothing. This three-hour class will run from 6:30-9:30pm and will be filled with colorful fabrics and thread options to for you to learn up to 7 different embroidery stitches.

On March 28 I'll also be at the Issaquah Wine and Art Walk from 6-9pm. Enjoy a night out with wine and local art. MCreativeJ will be set up near the King County Library on Sunset Way.

If you're into embroidery (or want to get into it), and aren't in the Seattle area, you can still craft with me!
