Recharge With A Craft Class This April


This April, I'm excited to be the teacher and the student. While I teach (A LOT) of workshops, I don't always get to take very many. This month is packed full of fun workshops that I'm teaching, and I'm also going to attend Craftcation and Camp Thundercraft to take some business and craft classes as well.

April 3- Mushroom Embroidery Basics from 1-3pm PST at Wyldwood Creative

Let’s stitch magical mushrooms! Learn to embroider a playful bunch of fungi in this in-person embroidery workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches such as the satin stitch, back stitch, reverse chain stitch, long and short satin stitch, and French knot. Each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, mushroom transfer designs, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, cream cotton fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. April 13- Bee T-Shirt from 6-8pm PST at A Little Knitty

Have you ever wanted to add embroidery to your t-shirt? Well now you can! Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ in a two-hour online workshop. You'll learn the leaf stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, and stem stitch to create this bee and leaf design, specifics of how to embroider on clothing, and tips and tricks to making your embroidered clothing last. Simply bring your own t-shirt and let's get stitching. Class participants will receive a materials kit upon registration that includes DMC embroidery thread, an embroidery needle, a transfer pattern, iron-on stabilizer, an embroidery hoop, and printed instructions RSVP for class here.


April 14: Virtual Plants + Shapes Applique Embroidery from 6-8pm PST with Spacecraft

Let’s mix and match fabric and embroidery! Learn how to applique abstract fabric shapes and plants with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two-hour, hands-on workshop will cover basic applique and beginner-friendly embroidery stitches like the running stitch, satin stitch, back stitch, and button hole stitch. Each participant will receive a full class kit that includes an embroidery hoop, cotton fabrics, full skeins of embroidery thread, embroidery needle, sewing pins, backing materials, and printed instructions. April 16: Virtual Mending from 11-1pm PST with Jenny Lemons

Darning for denim. Ever have a small hole you wish you could patch? Now you can with this woven mend. This visible mending technique is great for covering up smaller holes and worn areas on clothing. Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ will share how to create this mend on denim. RSVP for this class here.


April 21: Blooming Wildflowers from 6:30-8:30pm PST at Monster

Let’s create whimsical wildflowers! Learn to embroider a playful bunch of wildflowers in this in person embroidery workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. This two and a half hour, hands-on workshop covers a variety of beginner-friendly embroidery stitches such as the satin stitch, back stitch, stem stitch, leaf stitch, French knot, and woven picot stitch. Each attendee will receive a full kit. Kits are mailed to you and include: a wooden embroidery hoop, transfer design, sewing pins, an embroidery needle, full skeins of embroidery thread, a cream cotton fabric, backing materials, and printed instructions. April 23-24: Embroidered Clothing at Camp Thundercraft

Have you ever wanted to embroider your clothing? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a hands-on workshop. Simply bring a garment to embroider and we’ll provide you with playful sample designs (or create your own!), an embroidery hoop, thread, needle, instructions, and stabilizer to help you get started. April 25: Virtual: Upcycle with Hand Embroidery on Sweatshirts and Tees with Pattern Review

Have you ever wanted to embroider your clothing? Join fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ for a hands-on workshop. Simply bring a garment to embroider and I'll help you get started. We'll discuss how to embroider different garments, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, denim, and more. This class will also cover a handful of different embroidery stitches, recommended ways to transfer your design, and care for embroidered garments. April 29: Prickly Pear Earrings from 6:30-8:30pm PST at Monster

Create your own pair of mini prickly pear cactus earrings in this two-hour hands-on workshop with fiber artist Melissa Galbraith of MCreativeJ. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to transfer a design, create the radial satin stitch, seed stitch, and running stitch, as well as finish your embroidery in the earring setting. Each participant will receive a full kit that includes peach cotton fabric, a beechwood embroidery hoop, an embroidery needle, full skeins of DMC thread, a transfer pen, a pair of earring settings, and printed instructions.
