Double Running / Holbein Stitch
The double running stitch, also known as the Holbein stitch, is a variation on the running stitch. This stitch looks like a line of short connected dashes like the back stitch, however, it is stitched differently and the front and the back of this stitch look the same. The double running/Holbein stitch is useful for securing seams, geometric stitching, reversible embroidery, and often used in Blackwork. Use this DIY video and step-by-step tutorial to learn how to embroider the double running/ Holbein stitch.
