It's Week 1 of the Wild Pansy Stumpwork Stitch Along!
I'm thrilled to be kicking off the Wild Pansy Stumpwork Stitch Along with the Handmade History Podcast. It's been such a long time since I hosted a one of these (I think it was the 3D Lily Pad Pond!) so I can't wait for us all to embroider together. Plus, 3D embroidery- I love it and I know you're going to have so much fun trying it out as well.
Each week in March we'll be stitching a different part of the Wild Pansy Stumpwork embroidery design. You can follow along with your stumpwork embroidery kit or PDF pattern and share your progress on Instagram by tagging at @ mcreativej and handmadehistorypodcast

Week 1 Stitches
For week 1 we're getting started with stumpwork, aka 3D embroidery. Together we'll create the top and bottom pansy petal. This will cover how to place tulle fabric in the embroidery hoop, how to transfer the embroidery pattern, how to prep the thread, and how to create a loop start. Plus, help you feel comfortable creating a wire slip and thread painting (aka the long and short satin stitch) with single and multiple colors.
Week 1 YouTube Stitch Along Video
Every Monday, I'm sharing an in-depth YouTube video that pairs with the section of the stumpwork embroidery kit and PDF pattern we'll be covering for that week.
Join the Stitch Along
If you haven't ordered a stumpwork embroidery kit or downloaded the PDF pattern, there's still time. We'll be stitching throughout the entire month of March and these resources will be available even after the stitch along.
