Stab Stitch
The stab stitch is an easy way to connect one element to another, such as a fabric slip or wire slip to a base fabric in stumpwork. Use this DIY video and step-by-step tutorial to learn how to embroider the stem stitch.
What you'll need to create the stab stitch:

1. Start by laying the element that will be attached on top of the fabric.

2. Bring the needle up through the base fabric next to the laid element.

3. Then make a short, small stitch into the element, securing it to the base fabric.

4. Repeat until the element is secured.
