Our Favorite Times to Stitch this Summer

Summer Stitching is the dreamiest! I can't think of many crafts I like to do in the summer more than embroidery... it's not too hot, doesn't take up too much space, and is just the perfect amount of work/brain power/exertion for any summer outing you indulge in during the summer (even if, honestly, you hide from the heat and watch movies in your air conditioned living room).

I've been thinking about all of the summer-specific instances where having my stitching greatly enhances my life, and I've got a few summery categories to share with you. Without further ado, here are some of our favorite times to stitch this summer (and beyond).

While being transported to summer fun

  • on an airplane;

  • on a train;

  • while a passenger in a car.

While waiting for summer fun to begin

  • any waiting room ever;

  • in your seat before a play or musical or concert;

  • in line for tickets for fun.

While taking a break from the fun

  • on a beach blanket;

  • on a lawn chair;

  • on a blanket at a park.

While actively engaging in the fun

  • while hanging on a restaurant or bar patio;

  • while at an outdoor music festival;

  • while sitting on your deck;

  • and for the truly brave, on a floatie in a pool or a lake.

Looking for the perfect take-anywhere summer project? Check out our beginner-level embroidery kits! They include pretty much everything you need to make something truly special, and they come in the cutest little box! I had high hopes of sharing photos of me stitching at one or all of these places, but alas, that has not happened yet, so please enjoy some photos of me working on the cutest and cleverest kit, in my backyard and my couch ;)
